Accessibility Statement
Airtech Mechanical Services is committed to a website that works for every visitor — including customers using assistive technology. Here's what we've done, what we're still working on, and how to tell us if something isn't working for you.
The quick version
We designed this Site to meet the
WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines and to align with the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). That means real HTML
headings, visible keyboard focus, AA-level color contrast, alt
text on informative images, form fields with labels and error
messages, a skip-to-main-content link at the top of every page,
and support for text resizing and reduced-motion preferences. We
also publish
sitemap.xml and semantic HTML so search engines and
AI agents can find helpful information cleanly. Some third-party
embeds (maps, videos, PDFs) may not fully conform — if any part
of the Site is a barrier for you, please tell us at
office@airtechnc.com
or
(252) 636-5841
and we will respond within
5 business days.
1. Our commitment
Airtech Mechanical Services, Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities and to serving every visitor — including those using assistive technology — with dignity and equal access to information about our HVAC services. We continually improve the user experience of our website and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
2. Conformance target
Our target is Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at conformance Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.2 Level AA is also the standard referenced in U.S. Department of Justice guidance under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and is the alignment target we hold internal and vendor work to.
We evaluate the Site’s conformance using a combination of automated tooling (axe / Lighthouse) and manual testing including keyboard traversal, screen-reader spot checks, and color-contrast review.
3. Measures we have taken
- Semantic HTML — every page uses correct
landmarks (
<header>,<nav>,<main>,<footer>) and a properly nested heading hierarchy so assistive technology can navigate the page structure; - Skip to main content — a keyboard-accessible skip link is the first focusable element on every page;
- Keyboard operable — all interactive controls (menus, accordions, forms, dialogs, calculators) can be operated with a keyboard alone;
- Visible focus indicators — every interactive element has a high-contrast focus ring that is not removed by CSS;
- Alternative text — informative images carry
descriptive
altattributes; purely decorative images usealt=""oraria-hidden; - Color contrast — our brand palette (navy, flame red, gold on navy, ink text on frost / white) meets or exceeds the WCAG 2.2 AA 4.5:1 (normal text) and 3:1 (large text and UI components) contrast ratios;
- Forms — every input has a visible
<label>, required fields are announced, validation errors are presented in text (not color alone), and error messages are associated with the field viaaria-describedby; - ARIA where needed — we use ARIA roles, properties, and states only to supplement native semantics (following the “first rule of ARIA” — prefer native HTML);
- Resizable text and responsive layout — content reflows without loss of information at 320 CSS pixels wide and at 200% zoom;
- Reduced-motion support — the Site honors the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query and disables non-essential motion (parallax, smooth-scroll, transitions) for visitors who request it; - Language — every page declares its language
with
<html lang="en">; - Accessible names — icon buttons and
icon-only links carry accessible names via
aria-labelor visually-hidden text.
4. Ongoing effort
Accessibility is an ongoing effort, not a one-time project. We re-test the Site regularly, incorporate accessibility into every new feature and content update, and rely on customer feedback to find issues automated tools cannot catch. When we ship new templates or third-party integrations, we test them for keyboard operability, screen-reader compatibility, and color contrast before release.
5. Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some parts of the Site may not yet be fully accessible. Common examples on any modern marketing site include:
- Third-party embeds — embedded maps, video players, review widgets, financing-application widgets, and some analytics/consent tooling are controlled by their vendors and may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. Where a third-party embed is central to the page, we provide an equivalent accessible alternative (for example, our full address, phone number, and service-area list are provided in text alongside our map embed);
- PDF documents — some archival PDFs (manufacturer spec sheets, brochures) may not fully meet PDF/UA accessibility requirements. If you need a specific PDF in an accessible format, please contact us and we will provide an alternative;
- User-generated content — review excerpts and testimonials embedded from third-party review platforms follow the accessibility posture of those platforms;
- Historical content — older blog posts may contain images without the same level of alt-text detail as current articles; we update them opportunistically.
6. Access for search engines and AI agents
We publish machine-readable resources so both search engines and AI agents can access accurate, helpful information about our services:
-
sitemap.xml— every crawlable page on the Site; -
llms.txt— a curated map of the Site’s most useful content for large-language-model agents; -
robots.txt— crawl directives; -
Semantic HTML plus schema.org
LocalBusiness,Service, andFAQPageJSON-LD on the relevant pages; - Plain-text answers to common HVAC questions in the FAQ library and the Learning Center, so both humans and machines can extract them without executing JavaScript.
7. Assistive-technology feedback and support
If you cannot access any content on this Site, if any interaction is not accessible to you, or if you have a suggestion for improving accessibility, please tell us. We take every report seriously.
- Email: office@airtechnc.com (subject line: Accessibility Feedback)
- Phone: (252) 636-5841 (24/7 for emergency service dispatch; accessibility inquiries are triaged during business hours)
- Mail: 204 Kale Rd, New Bern, NC 28562
When you contact us about accessibility, please include (a) the URL of the page where you encountered the issue, (b) a short description of what you were trying to do, and (c) the assistive technology or browser / device you were using. We aim to acknowledge every accessibility report within 5 business days and to provide the information you were looking for in an accessible format while any fix is being scheduled.
8. Third-party accessibility complaints
If a barrier involves a third-party service embedded on our Site (for example, a video player, review widget, or financing application), we will do our best to route your feedback to that vendor and to provide you with the underlying information through a channel that works for you.
9. Formal complaints
Airtech is committed to resolving accessibility barriers informally through the channels above. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division at civilrights.justice.gov/report.
10. Effective date and review cadence
This Accessibility Statement was last updated on October 21, 2026 and is reviewed at least annually (next scheduled review: October 2027) and whenever we make a substantive change to the Site.
